GOLDFRAPP: BRAND NEW ALBUM 'TALES OF US' RELEASED 9TH SEPT 2013

BRAND NEW ALBUM ‘TALES OF US’

RELEASED 9 SEPTEMBER 2013

NEW EUROPEAN TOUR ANNOUNCED FOR AUTUMN

SUMMER DATES: LIVE AT MANCHESTER INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL, SOMERSET HOUSE AND LOVEBOX HEADLINE SHOW

Goldfrapp release their stunningly beautiful new album ‘Tales Of Us’ through Mute on 9 September 2013. Their sixth album, ‘Tales Of Us’ is written and produced by band members Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory and was recorded at their studio in the English countryside.

A sumptuous body of work, ‘Tales Of Us’ has been two years in the crafting and is their most narrative, cinematic and intimate recording so far. Nothing in their accomplished back catalogue has hinted at the new lyrical breadth that the band have introduced to ‘Tales Of Us’. All the songs bar one are named in the first person with a cast list of evocative character sketches, the contrary love affairs, the suspense, hallucinations, fairy tales and modern folklores documented and the traces of redemption they find in song take the poetry of Goldfrapp’s delicately considered music somewhere brand new.

A trailer for the album offering the first chance to get a glimpse of ‘Tales Of Us' can be seen at www.goldfrapp.com.

With its uniquely cinematic narrative, filmmaker Lisa Gunning is creating a compelling and beautiful film to accompany the album, which will be shown in cinemas later this year.

Goldfrapp kick-start a summer of very special live performances with two shows at the Manchester International Festival on 17 & 18 July when they will be performing ‘Tales Of Us’ live for the very first time, accompanied by the Royal Northern College of Music string orchestra. The band will then be performing at Somerset House on 20 July before going on to headline the Lovebox main stage on Sunday 21 July.

The summer shows are a precursor to a European headline tour in October and November with the following performances:

Mon Oct 21: Amsterdam – Paradiso

Tues Oct 22: Brussels – Ancienne Belgique

Weds Oct 23: Berlin – Heimathafen Neukölln

Fri Oct 25: Paris – Le Trianon Hall

Sat Oct 26: Zurich – Kaufleuten

Fri Nov 1: London – Hammersmith Apollo

DIZZEE RASCAL ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM 'THE FIFTH'

NEW ALBUM

THE FIFTH

UK Release: 1st July 2013

2013 sees the return of the UK music legend that is Dizzee Rascal as he prepares to release his brand new album The Fifth on 1st July.

For his latest smash Dizzee brings together a crack team of collaborators and experts to create a dynamite combination of tracks destined to hit the global jugular.  With a host of artists and producers wanting to work with him for this release he is going hard and taking a leap even further into the realms of crossover success.  The Fifth is the first album release from Dizzee since singing a multi-million pound worldwide deal with Universal and for his new album he has flipped his own script, forsaking the familiar comforts of his South London studio for a walk on the wild side through the platinum disc-lined hallways of the best producers on the planet.

Looming large alongside notable contributions from Rihanna and Chris Brown veterans Warren Okay ‘Oak’ Felder and Andrew ‘Pop’ Wansell, not to mention Madonna’s hook-scientist of choice Jean-Baptiste Kouame, are four tracks recorded with RedOne (the all-conquering Swedish/Moroccan production house that gave the world Lady Gaga’s ‘Poker Face’, J-Lo’s ‘On The Floor’ and Nicki Minaj’s ‘Starships’ to name but three).

“If my last record was dipping my foot into the swimming pool of happiness”, he explains “this one is fully going for a swim - backstroke, butterfly, in every way  ... not just doggie-paddle”. With musical backdrops ranging from dub-step to New York house and dancehall to moombahton, and a heavyweight cast of vocal and production cameos stretching from the kings of Houston Bun B and Trae the Truth to up-and-coming British r’n’b star Angel, via Will.i.am, Tinie Tempah, Calvin Harris, Jessie J and Robbie Williams, The Fifth could hardly be making a bigger summer splash.

It’s been a decade since the release of the seminal ‘Boy In Da Corner marking a big year for the East London emcee turned worldwide superstar.  He went onto release three subsequent hit albums including the self-released platinum ‘Tongue and Cheek’ which spawned 5 number one singles in the UK which was honoured but the Official Charts Company last year.   With countless accolades and industry awards under his belt including coveted Mercury Music Prize, Ivor Novello, Brit and most recently a landmark performance at the 2012 Olympics, Dizzee has proved he is one of the most successful British artists of all time.

Catch Dizzee at one of his huge live performances this year including a massive show on the Glastonbury Pyramid stage later this month.  The Fifth will be available in two versions, a 16-track deluxe and 12-track standard, both downloadable in clean and Dirtee formats.

DISCLOSURE: Debut Album 'Settle' is UK #1

DEBUT ALBUM 'SETTLE'
FLIES STRAIGHT TO UK ALBUM TOP SPOT

"One of the most assured, confident debuts from any genre in recent memory" - Pitchfork, 9.1 (Best New Music)

"Disclosure are a cool breeze of stealth and restraint" - Q ****

"Their album will soundtrack the summer" - The Sunday Times

Disclosure have hit the top of the UK Album Charts in the first week of release of their debut LP, 'Settle'. After a close-run battle with Queens Of The Stone Age, the brotherly duo of Guy and Howard Lawrence pipped Josh Homme's outfit to the #1 spot by around 7,000 copies, closing the week on just shy of 45,000 sales, and in the process heralding a changing of the guard by ending Daft Punk’s three week reign at the top of the charts. The duo also demonstrated their international appeal, with strong sales around the world landing them in the US iTunes Top 5, and the national Top 5 in Australia.

The pair told the Official Charts Company:

"We're absolutely delighted with the result. Proudest moment of our lives. We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has bought the record."

The feat caps a phenomenal 2013 so far for the pair, who had already bagged two Top 10 singles with 'White Noise' and 'You & Me', and have been busy playing live to packed-out audiences around the world. Their movements even in the space of the last week epitomise their hard work ethic, celebrating the album's launch in association with Boiler Room on Monday, appearing on 'Later... With Jools Holland' on Tuesday and Friday to perform 'Latch' (with Sam Smith) and 'Confess To Me' (with Jessie Ware) respectively, stopping in to Radio 1's Live Lounge on Wednesday to perform tracks from 'Settle' along with a special cover version of Duke Dumont's 'Need U (100%)', and on Saturday played a triumphant live set at Parklife Festival in Manchester.
