Young Rebel Set Interview

'Young Rebel' Set are a collection of seven offering a unique sound comprising of a mandolin, harmonica, guitar, bass, keyboard and drums. Originally from Stockton On Trent, Matt Chipchases accent enthasises their unrivaled country-blues indie sound. Their CV's read as interesting as their music, previous employment involves organ tuning, turkey killing and chlamydia kit packing.
Unwilling to settle for boredom YRS formed as teenagers and have their own label named 'Our Broadcast'.
They have recently returned from touring in Germany and are preparing for the UK tour which will start mid November and take them right up to Christmas.

The Young Rebels confess that being part of the music industry, gigging away from home, is a big sacrifice and advise other bands starting out to make sure they've horned their craft and to have demos and songs mastered because second chances are rarely given.

As much as they would love to perform at Glastonbury and Reading Festival, they feed off the atmospher received at smaller gigs like Carling Academy stressing that the intimate vibe can't be beaten. Not the type of band who would sit and wallow in fame, limousine hoping from venue to venue does not interest them. Performing and then partying with the crowed is more appealing.

A majority of the songs are written by Matt which are hard-talking and honest thoughts stemming from everyday life, usually being a vent or type of therapy session. The band then makes the music to fit. Disagreements have occured at times blaming it on their passion for music but Matt as the song writer makes the final decisions. This bares no issue as they all claim to be married to the band.

Rebels by name and nature any criticisms are taken with disregard. Their theory is they don't enjoy every band so are not bothered by the same treatment. They do appreciate fellow home-town group 'Kaitlyn Cain'.

Young Rebel Set released their first single last August and shot the video in a local club. Positive vibes were received on set, that is when they felt the next level had been reached and are still experiencing new and great things. YRS approaching December tour will be the first time they travel on a tour bus rather than in the back of the van. They will also have the privilege of being flown out to the Germany tour early next year.

Despite the fact that Young Rebels are sponsored to rock Levis and Fred Perry clothing and have a good following they remain grounded. Manager Rob compares their relationship to managing a Sunday football team.

Young Rebel Sets debut album is due out early next year with musicvita being promised the 'title exclusive'. In advance to the new album YRS will be releasing brand new single 'Measure Of A Man' which will be available for digital download on November 14th.
