Everyone’s favourite Swedish genius and madcap bass-monkey, Peo de Pitte makes a welcome return with the brand new single, ‘Who do you Love?’.

Earlier this year, he topped the charts with the trouser-shaking subsonic wobble of ‘Burning Up’ (which enjoyed support from Bloody Beetroots, Plump DJ’s, Silvio Berlusconi and many more).

Peo then turned it up with the Raven-esque brilliance of ‘Grey Tape’, once again gaining plaudits from Steve Aoki, Boris Dlugosch and surprisingly, Kofi Annan.

Once again, Peo de Pitte has answered all your bassbin’s needs. His new single is out this winter on U&A and it’s being pimped by 2 Many DJ’s, Crookers, The Loops of fury, Hostage, Mord Fustang, AC Slater, Groove Armada, Savage Skulls, Wafa, Chris Lake, Zinc & MANY more.

So altogether now … Who loves you … and ‘Who do you Love?’!

Many have already heralded Belle’s music as a soundtrack for the Occupy movement, and once again her potent music speaks out against the Machine. Seattle-based songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer and film composer, Anomie Belle, releases her new EP, Machine, on December 5th, featuring collaborations with members of the Sneaker Pimps, Mr Lif, and Big Spider’s Back.

Her new EP kicks off with “Slither,” a dark, sinister, sexy track written in collaboration with Ian Pickering of the Sneaker Pimps. “I was in Europe for a festival and decided to stop through London to visit Ian on my way home,” Anomie explains. “We shut ourselves in a smoky little room for four days and just wrote music together. Ian and I connected musically right away. I love the darkness in Ian’s lyrics… they strike an intriguing balance with his genuine and compassionate demeanor as a person.”

The dark themes of greed and suffering in “Slither” are followed by “Machine,” a collaboration between Belle and hip-hop emcee, Mr Lif (The Perceptionists, Thievery Corporation). In “Machine,” Lif and Anomie dish out harsh criticism of the enormous discrepancies in wealth, avarice, oppression and poverty that characterize modern society. (Check out the music video here: http://youtu.be/bwqKCkr6IDc)

Lif and Anomie first teamed up in 2009 to perform at Bumbershoot and have continued to perform together since. The two immediately connected around their shared values and musical sensibilities. Lif has long been noted for his socially conscious lyrics, and Belle is known for tackling critiques of greed, oppression, mass media, corporate power, inequality, and alienation in her music.

“I grew up in your prototypical American suburb,” Anomie Belle explains. “The manicured lawns, strip mall parking lots, chain stores, and massive expanses of cement and housing developments depressed me. I chose the moniker Anomie Belle to speak to the decadent alienation of the American dream.”

“Beautiful Desocialization and is a moniker quite apropos for Anomie Belle,” writes Hellbomb. “Her songs are critical of blind adherence to consumerism. They’re swanky and sexy, but they also champion individuality and critical thinking.”

Machine (feat. Mr Lif) is followed by three remixes of tracks from Anomie Belle’s recent LP, The Crush, including an infectious dance remix of “Machine” by Big Spider’s Back.

Anomie’s love of collaborations is no secret. Her work as a producer has recently led her to collaborate with members of The Posies, Trespassers William, and Ninjatune’s Yppah. She has also recently toured with Tricky, Little Dragon, The Album Leaf, Bajofondo, and Kathryn Calder (of the New Pornographers). “I have been fortunate to get to perform and collaborate with so many talented folks,” Belle comments. “There is so much to learn, and I am thrilled to have been given so many opportunities to grow as a musician through collaboration.”

“Lost and Found” is the new focus track from 2morrows Victory. The song blazingly introduces this South London group to a wider audience, with their refreshing approach to hip hop in the fashion of a ground breaking British indie band.  “Lost and Found” is a crusade for listeners to groove, think and question where they are and who they want to be. A forthright opus coming for a group of friends whose shared passion for cycling and live music formed the foundation of what they are creating now.

The collective is made up of Alan Baltic, Rafael Powell, Alex G B and Greg B (a London based rapper from Chicago). The band records inside their bespoke studio with all instruments rigged up to create a sound ready for live stages. With a bank of influences to choose from - Madlib, Little Dragon, Coldplay, James Blake, Robert Glasper - 2MV makes a concerted effort to extend their practice outside the conventional structure of rap music, but never forgetting why they love hip hop.

Young Fathers - ‘Nothing Left (So Here’s a Beat)’

Monday, November 28th, 2011

Ex-would be boyband Young Fathers release their debut single ‘Nothing Left (So Here’s a Beat)’ through Black Sugar Music on 19th December 2011, taken from their forthcoming album ‘The Guide’, released 6th February 2012.

Hailing from Nigeria, Liberia & the banlieue schemes of Edinburgh, Young Fathers create soulful, bass-heavy music overlaid with passionate sparring words. Together the three members G, Ally and Kayus are like a family. ‘Nothing Left’ deals with the realisation between these family members that the most important thing in their lives is their creative work together as Young Fathers.

The combined sound of Young Fathers reflects the varied backgrounds of each band member. G, the son of a taxi driver, born in Drylaw, a scheme in the north of Edinburgh. Ally, originally from Liberia, left the country due to civil war when he was four and came to Edinburgh. Kayus, the sun of Nigerian born parents, arrived in the UK from Nigeria via Montgomery County, USA.

Having formed over ten years ago aged fifteen, the band have since become like brothers to one another, finishing off sentences, honing their craft and recording the results. Their journey has seen them go from hip hop group to boyband and finally into something completely original and creative.

“The biggest buzz so far has been the moment when we sat in the studio listening to The Guide and realised that we had an album that represented us, that returned us to the love. It was late on a Saturday night and it was dark, except for the twinkling of the mixing desk lights. We were sober but we felt drunk.”

Up for grabs now as a free download is an eight track mixtape by Young Fathers, available on cassette and online at youngfathersmusic.com. This, ahead of their London show at The Old Blue Last on November 29th, gives us a taste of what to expect from one of the UK’s most exciting, new and original bands.
