Angelina Lavo Gets Risque This Summer

Friday, June 15th, 2012

Up-and-coming artist, performer songwriter and internet sensation Angelina Lavo unleashes her debut EP, Risque this Tuesday on ITunes and all good digital stores.

Risque is considered by Angelina Lavo to be, “a musical flirtation that gives a little bit of everything to everybody.”

The EP features production from industry heavyweights, Omen (Usher, Lil Wayne, Drake and Fabolous) and Lu Diaz (Pitbull, DJ Khaled, Jason Mraz and J-Lo). Omen recently produced, “What Happened to U,” on Usher’s latest album Looking 4 Myself. The multi-platinum producer commented that, “Angelina Lavo is definitely a name to look out for.”

Angelina has received thousands of followers and fans leading up to the launch of Risque. The first track on the genre bending EP, “Circus Act” is on rotation on KTU, and debuted at #15 on Reverb Nation.

The edgy second track, “Jealous Girls,” was performed last month by Angelina Lavo at Arena (NYC) to a captivated audience as part of Boutique Artists Summer Fashion Week 2012 along with her tribute to the Big Apple, “NY.”

The fourth track off of Risque, “Like You Did Before,” shows Angelina’s take on heart break as she shares her experience with listeners.

In contrast to the other songs on Risque,”I Can’t Believe,” shows Angelina’s natural talent in upbeat electronic dance music. Angelina is reported to be working with the track’s producer, Lu Diaz, on more material for her up-and-coming album.

Angelina and legendary rapper Twista wrap the EP in true Risque fashion with, “Cotton Candy.” Sources close to Angelina’s team have confirmed that they are working on a music video featuring both artists.
The ladies still scream for Elvis…but this time, in terror! Dead Elvis and His One Man Grave is a one-man band that combines the white jumpsuit iconic imagery of Elvis Presley with the caveman-stomp rock ‘n’ rock of Hasil Adkins. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hasil_Adkins

The last Dead Elvis show (also presented by Trash A Go-Go, November 20, 2010) is now legendary, akin to the classic Louisiana Hayride and “Aloha from Hawaii” performances of the (formerly) alive one. Dead E. decimated the audience, with few still standing by the end of his epic performance. Much of what went down is still hazy, lost in the mist of post-dramatic stress and Jack Daniels. There were tumbles to the ground; there was fire-water; various body-parts fell astray. In other words, it was a Trash A Go-Go performance of the lowest highest standards. And now baby, he’s back.

DJ B.O will be there, and everything you need to know about him can be surmised by the fact that he’s made actual Elvis pilgrimages, including viewings of the “maybe Elvis toenail” and the “Elvis wart” – 100% true.
MusicDishTV Presents “Your Love Is My Oxygen” By Cutting Edge (Remix By Munroe)

Wednesday, November 9th, 2011

Cutting Edge’s song “Your Love Is My Oxygen,” remixed by Munroe, is a dance song with a distinct nineties feel. The remix is danceable, with a strong beat that doesn’t overwhelm the listener. Already set up for a wave of nostalgia the viewer can expect a video full of bright effects, as well as a vast array of visuals. The video is reminiscent of early 1990’s videos, which were sort of experimental; known for using shadows, and trance-like visuals. The video sets the scene of a packed club with flashing lights, and quick camera work. Throughout the video all sorts of effects are used; shadows, mirror imaging, slow motion, lens flares, fake clouds that fill the screen and transition from the shadowy lead vocalist to the throng of wild dancing club goers. Viewers may want to keep an eye out for the smoke that comes in during the last minute of the video! An interesting effect, that adds to the razzle dazzle visuals of the video. The video was directed by Ricky Rick, and produced by David Pesnell and Jimmy Fassler their main themes for this video were dancing and fun, which was evident, as they made good use of various dancers, full clubs, and a steady beat.

Thursday, October 13th, 2011

Every year, DJ’s from all across Europe flock to the small city of Birmingham smack dab in the middle of the United Kingdom for the BPM Show held at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC). DJ legends, Grandmaster Flash and Pete Tong were on hand to impart their wisdom and skills upon the youth of the DJ world in the Gatecrasher Arena. One of the highlights of the show had to be the judging of the prestigious DJ Mag Tech Awards.

Companies competing for the highest tech honours included Numark, Pioneer, Serato, Stanton, Vestax and of course Toronto, Canada based, SmithsonMartin Inc. SmithsonMartin’s first product Emulator was up against some fierce competition with the Stanton SCS.4 and the Pioneer DJM-T1, but no one could deny that the most innovative product of the year was the first of a kind, “Star Trek Like” multi-touch DJ system, Emulator.
