All-time jazz greats like, Cannon Ball Adderley, Miles Davis, Joshua Redman, Bob James, Maceo Parker, FourPlay, Bill Evens and Wes Montgomery are being played on ESB radio. Vocal/hipspokenword artist Tony Adamo is humbled to have scored two Cd’s on ESB radio’s Top 50 album chart for the past three months (9/5/12). Adamo’s STRAIGHT UP DEAL is at #35 and WHAT IS HIP? is at #50.

His hip story tellin’ vocal delivery is now catching radio programmers attention around the country. You can dig Adamo’s music on Stephen ‘Doc’ Kupka’s (Tower of Power) Strokeland Records. Tony Adamo is a Strokeland jazz artist. His new music release will be out in early 2013. Mike Clark, of Herbie Hancock and the Headhunters, is the producer. Tim Ouimette is Adamo’s music director and horn arranger. Adamo is now in final record contract talks with RandomAct Records, home to the Michael Wolff /Mike Clark Expedition, Kenny Drew,Jr, Larry Coryell, Carmen Intorre Jr., and Bria Skonberg.

David Longoria’s Instrumental Zoon Baloomba Enters Billboard Chart At #50, Is Chart’s First Trumpet Hit Since 1979

David Longoria [davidlongoria.com], known for his innovative blend of Latin, Jazz and Dance music has achieved National Hit status with his new single Zoon Baloomba as it enters the Billboard Dance Music Charts October 6, 2012 at #50 with a bullet. This marks the first time a trumpet player has achieved success on this chart with an instrumental since Herb Alpert did it with Rise in 1979. Rise went on to reach #17 on that chart and reached #1 on the US Billboard Pop Chart in the following months. Part of the success of Rise was attributed to it being featured in the hit TV daytime TV soap General Hospital.

Longoria reached #14 on this chart in 2006 with his single Deeper Love (featuring singer Cece Peniston) but Longoria and Peniston sang together along with his trumpet work to create that hit. Zoon Baloomba is an instrumental song featuring Longoria’s trademark trumpet embellished by some brief tribal vocals announcing the song’s title.

The single Zoon Baloomba has been presented in several remixed versions including Club mixes from popular remixers Ralphi Rosario, Majik Boys, Mickey Oliver, Gustavo Scorpio, and Mental Blue. It debuts on the chart right behind K-Pop Dance mega Hit “Gangnam Style” by Korean singer PSY at #49.

The tracks are now available on iTunes, Amazon and other music sales outlets. It is currently playing in clubs across America with a much anticipated official music video scheduled for release in October. The unofficial music videos are posted on YouTube (youtube.com/davidlongoria) and have already gathered about a million combined views to date.

Longoria is known in Jazz and Latin Jazz circles as an exceptional musician, often considered one of the most exciting trumpeters of this generation. His unafraid attitude in creating cutting edge works has earned him many awards including the Hollywood Music Awards Best Instrumental Artist Award, the ASYM (America Society Of Young Musicians) All That Jazz Award 2011 and the American Jazz Society’s Top Contemporary Artist 2012 Award.

“I always admired Miles Davis for going out on a limb to push the envelope of modern music”, Longoria says, adding “and Herb Alpert always knew how to make trumpet music cool and accessible to the public, not just to jazz fans.”

And that’s what is happening again now with Zoon Baloomba as it climbs the Billboard Dance chart. Thousands of clubs across America are featuring the song and Longoria’s innovative approach to the trumpet and current music in the age of the electronic. “I love to blend my sound with organic and electronic elements to create something unique,” Longoria explains, adding “and it’s a great feeling to know so many people are enjoying and dancing to my music right now!”

Musician-Physician Goes ‘All The Way’ With New Smooth Jazz Release

Osaru, a North Carolina based musician and physician continues his Smooth Jazz journey with a fascinating new chapter. In his new Smooth Jazz CD ‘All The Way’ he delights our ears with 10 brand new original songs. This is a Smooth Jazz lover’s ‘must buy’!

Music and the art of medicine have a lot in common, the most obvious being the ability to heal wounds and make people feel good. Osaru continues to do this on the keyboards and wind controller with his finely honed talents.

A very worthy successor to his last album, ‘Home with the Keys’, ‘All the Way’ combines catchy themes with laid back mid-tempo grooves, creating beautiful melodies that will keep your head bobbing and your foot tapping. Rising star Elijah Rock makes big waves in the music world as he releases his digital single, ‘That First Time’ as well as his digital album EP ‘Elijah Rock LIVE in Hollywood’ Rock is a Jazz Crooner, one that is long awaited and rare. A live 7-piece ensemble accompanies him, conveying the sound of a mini Big Band. The EP was recorded live on June 26th, 2012 at the annual KJAZZ (88.1) FM Hollywood & Highland Summer Jazz Concert Series in Los Angeles, CA. In addition to the studio single of ‘That First Time,’ the EP features Rocks enthralling studio recording of the classic spiritual ‘Swing Low, Sweet Chariot.”

Elijah Rock started pursuing his love of music in his native town of Cleveland, OH. After attending the Cleveland Institute of Music as a vocal performance major, Rock landed in New York City. His smooth vocal tone and distinctive vibrato drew comparisons to such greats as Arthur Prysock, Billy Eckstine, Joe Williams and Sammy Davis Jr. Both the single and the LIVE recordings swing hard, reminiscent of 1960’s Big Band era but with a contemporary flare. ‘That First Time, ‘New York City Springtime’ and ‘Shake it Baby Blues’ are all Rocks original compositions but they’ll take you back to the classic sound of The Great American Songbook. With acclaimed musicians Abe Lagrimas, Jr. on Drums, Mahesh Balasooria on piano, Dominic Theroux on bass, a swinging horn section led by trumpeter Antonio Dangerfield and Rock highlighting his tap dancing prowess, his show is known to be immensely entertaining.

Rock not only embodies the Big Band in sound but also in aesthetic. His tailored suits and fine haberdashery confirm his essence and his honest nature as a first class act. Don’t Say It’s Tony Adamo And The Headhunters

Mike Clark, legendary drummer and former member of Herbie Hancock’s Headhunters band, can now add another name to his illustrious music career as the Funk Wizard of Manhattan. In addition to producing his new discovery, singer/nu-hip spoken word artist Tony Adamo’s CD, Clark brought in four members of the Headhunters - Bill Summers, percussion; Rob Dixon, horns; Richie Goods, Bass; Derrick Gardner, trumpet - to play and finish out the recording. Final mix day on Tony Adamo’s new CD is in late July 2012. Mike Clark producing Tim Ouimette mixing and pushing buttons. It is a really new concept–Oakland Funk and New York throw-down meets vocal/hip spoken word.
