Former Music Executive Turned Fashion Mogul Forever K Michael’s Designer Eyewear & Shaquille O’Neal’s Dunkman Eyewear: Journey III - The Video

Saturday, August 18th, 2012

The Forever K Michael Collection, from designer K Michael, is now available internationally, having recently expanded into London, Germany, and Dubai. Dunkman Eyewear, a collaboration between Shaquille O’Neal and K Michael, has also expanded into these locations. K Michael has released a new video, Orlando: Journey III, to commemorate the brands’ success.

When “Failure is not an option,” success is the only possible outcome. Truer words were never spoken or lived than by K Michael, the multitalented, innovative, and stylepreneur New Yorker and creator of the Forever K Michael designer eyewear collection. With the hottest, most impeccable state of the art designer eyewear to hit the industry in recent years, 2010 saw the birth and near vertical rise in K Michael’s success. A former A&R Executive with XRecords, K Michael merged his love for music and high fashion, which were second nature to the young entrepreneur. After partnering with the founders of the prestigious NYS Collection, he took on a more colossal challenge - one that stood exactly 7 feet and 1 inch tall. Shaquille O’Neal.

After just one meeting in December 2010 at The Four Seasons Hotel in New York, K Michael and Shaq, basketball’s most gregarious personality, shook hands and committed to the Dunkman Eyewear brand, which would prove to be every bit as stunning and extraordinary as the man himself. As the Forever K Michael Collection continued its upward spiral of success like the music moguls turned fashion icons P. Diddy, 50 Cent, and Jennifer Lopez, Dunkman Eyewear began its ascent to stardom as well. But having a megastar as a client puts the ball in a completely different court. The next phase of the journey would take K Michael to Shaquille O’Neal’s home in Orlando, to a strategy session with a crew of the most elite, influential, and powerful corporate names around the globe - Shaq’s partners and endorsers.

Seated in a room that was illuminated by top executives from TNT, the NBA, Kraft, Icy Hot, Oreo, Judith Lieber, Power Balance, and many of the world’s most recognizable brands, K Michael tossed his notes, picked up the microphone, and gave an awe-inspiring presentation. Confident in his products and abilities, he concluded the presentation and addressed Shaquille with conviction and said, “Nobody is going to work harder for you than me. Thank you.” His genuineness, honesty, and humbleness impressed the crème de la crème of Fortune 500 companies and others, and they shook his hand, offering both their congratulations and good will. In the midst of the accolades, K Michael realized that something had just changed. He had legitimized himself as a world class businessman, and was being recognized by the others who were present that day as a tour de force as well. K Michael no longer had anything to prove. He was now sitting among peers.

Since that time, the Forever K Michael Collection has continued to expand, adding new sleek, timeless, and distinguished designs to its portfolio. The company has also positioned itself as a global competitor in the designer eyewear market, and is being enthusiastically embraced by retailers. Directors Omar Shaikh and Michael-Angelo Munez from Shaikh Films witnessed and captured many of K Michael’s most memorable and influential moments on film. Shaikh commented, “I was honored to be able to document and be a part of this journey. Watching K Michael present the brand among the top names in the world with finesse, passion, and ease was inspiring. He touched the heart of the brand.” And the heart of the Forever K Michael brand is truly one that is driven and ambitious, as K Michael intimates his core philosophy, “Never give up. Never give in. Keep pushing to do what you love. That’s the journey; the K Michael journey. We’ve done what we were driven to do, and are proud of what we’ve accomplished.”

Hearing the news, her first class of student decided to reunite to put on a show-stopping musical to raise money and keep the program album. Now adults, the cast and former friends look back on the lessons they learned as troubled high school student from Ms. Daley. Morribi Records Launches New Website To Secure Record Contracts For Indie Artists

Saturday, August 11th, 2012

Morribi Records is launching a new website, designed to provide opportunities for unsigned independent artists by promoting their music onsite and “shopping” the top artists to music industry executives and professionals. The announcement was made by Okems Bright, Morribi’s Founder & CEO.

The end objective is to secure contracts with record labels, after an extensive process of artist development. Morribi Records has been assisting artists in this capacity since 2008 in Africa, Asia, and the UK, but created the site to reach more artists and provide a platform where the public and social networking sites also play a role in the final selection process. Artists must be able to play, sing, or produce, and they have an active ReverbNation account.

The first step is the submission of one song to the website. The Morribi Records team reviews all songs received, and selects the best of them. Each artist who is chosen has their song featured via a customized player for 24 hours, along with biographical information and a link to their ReverbNation page. After 24 hours, another artist is spotlighted, while the top 10 songs, based on the total number of plays, are continuously streamed.

Top 10 artists receive video, audio, and written interviews, and have press releases and track reviews written on their behalf. They may also elect to record with other Top 10 artists for more exposure and to highlight their diversity. These artists are groomed for success in every aspect of the industry. Each quarter, two artists are chosen from this group based on aggregated data such as the total number of plays, popularity on ReverbNation, social media site statistics (Facebook and Twitter), and the recommendations of record industry executives and professionals. Morribi Records then collaborates with labels to secure a record contract. If the artist accepts the contract, Morribi Records receives a small, previously discussed and agreed upon percentage, which is recycled back into the program to assist others.

Morribi Records partners with MusicDish, ViewHipHop.com, Island Records, Def Jam Recordings, MTV, ReverbNation, and The Entertainment Bank in this endeavor. Other services provided to artists include comprehensive management, development and promotion, digital distribution, concert and world tours, and gig swaps. Morribi Records also works with young ladies toward careers in modeling, acting, or dancing. The website will officially launch in September 2012.

Forever K Michael & Shaquille O’Neal’s Dunkman Eyewear: Journey III

Thursday, August 9th, 2012

The journey to success has its ups and downs, all the innovators and go-getters of the world know that. For K Michael, creator of the Forever K Michael designer eyewear collection, success is air bound. By fusing the best music with sleek and stylish eyewear, he created something unique, not to mention a must-have accessory. After partnering with the fashionable, yet affordable, NYS Collection, K Michael’s next step would be to involve basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal in his endeavors.

“Forever K Michael The Journey 3″ is a short video that takes us to Orlando, FL with K Michael, where he continues the never-ending branding process. This time, he is giving the presentation of his life in a room full of O’Neal’s partners and endorsers, or, in other words, a room full of some the top most and well known names in the world. Exciting or terrifying? Backed by an upbeat and rhythmic sound, the video shows K Michael arriving at an airport in, what can be assumed, Orlando, meeting with the NYS Collection executives, and giving the presentation that would change his life, all while donning his trendy shades.

K Michael has done a fine job in crafting quality eyewear that can complement any look. It is obvious that he will not rest until he gains global recognition and dominates the industry. Pretty soon new entrepreneurs will be pitching their ideas to K Michael, talented, fashionable, and successful businessman, forever sharing his passion.
